Intravaginal glyceryl trinitrate and dinoprostrone for cervical ripening and induction of labor
Article Abstract:
The efficacy and safety of intravaginal administration of glyceryl trinitrate plus dinoprostrone versus dinoprostrone, for cervical ripening and induction of labor is evaluated. Results reveal that association of glyceryl trinitrate with dinoprostrone is more effective than dinoprostrone alone for labor induction in low- risk patients at term with unfavorable cervices.

Comparison of the safety and efficacy of intravaginal misoprostol (prostaglandin E1) with those of dinoprostone (prostaglandin E2) for cervical ripening and induction of labor in a community hospital
Article Abstract:
Misoprostol may be more effective than prostaglandin E2 in inducing labor but it should not be used in women with a previous cesarean. In a study of 81 women in labor, misoprostol shortened delivery times compared to prostaglandin E2. However, women with a previous cesarean were more likely to have a uterine rupture if they received misoprostol.

Randomized comparison between intravaginal misoprostol and dinoprostone for cervical ripening and induction of labor
Article Abstract:
Vaginal suppositories containing misoprostol are more effective in inducing labor than suppositories containing dinoprostone, according to a study of 189 women. Misoprostol and dinoprostone are both synthetic forms of prostaglandin E.
