Invariant natural killer T cells in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Article Abstract:
A study examines the frequency of invariant natural killer T cells in the airways of subjects with mild or moderately severe asthma in order to investigate the association between the number of T cells in the airway and disease severity. It also observes whether an increased number of these cells are a feature of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Results demonstrate that invariant natural killer T cells are present in low numbers in the airways of subjects with asthma, those with COPD, as well as with control subjects.

How Ebola virus infects cells
Article Abstract:
A study highlighting the molecular events that culminate Ebola virus infection in humans is presented. Ebola virus embeds glycoprotein spikes that bind to cells and mediate fusion between the viral envelop and the host cell membrane, enabling the virus to release its contents into host-cell cytoplasm.
