Is macronutrient composition of dietary intake data affected by underreporting? Results from the EPIC-Potsdam study
Article Abstract:
Differences between subjects with low reported relative energy intake and those with higher relative energy intake based on macronutrient dietary composition and other characteristics were investigated. Cross-sectional data from the East German cohort of the European Prospective Investigation Into Cancer and Nutrition was analyzed. Results showed that underreporting of energy intake was directly related to obesity, while absolute macronutrient intake was directly associated with energy intake and basal metabolic rate.
