Lean times for skin care
Article Abstract:
There are a number of serious difficulties associated with standards of care for people with skin problems in the UK, according to a report from the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Skin. One of the main problems is obtaining drugs and dressings. This situation will be made worse by the department of health's decision that GPs will not be reimbursed for skin care products. The report also identifies a need to improve access to dermatology education and to deal with the implications of the closure of specialist dermatology beds.

Managing haemorrhagic skin lesions
Article Abstract:
A case study is used as the basis for a discussion of the treatment of haemorrhagic skin lesions associated with meningitis. In this case, an alginate dressing was used to treat more than 20 skin lesions. This was later replaced with hydrocolloid sheets.
