Learner-centered medical education
Article Abstract:
The education of medical students before World War II was the central mission of medical schools, and undergraduate medical education remains their one unique mission. Medical education is aimed primarily at helping medical students develop the power of critical reasoning, the capacity to generalize, the ability to acquire and evaluate information and intellectual tools to become lifelong learners.

Building an intestine - architectural contributors of commensal bacteria
Article Abstract:
A study by Rakoff-Nahoum and colleagues provide an insight into how the healthy intestinal surface defuses the threat of commensally bacteria to the lumen where they reside remains unaffected. It is proposed that although micro flora are required for homeostasis, they are also required for the full manifestations of inflammatory bowels disease induced in most genetic models.
