Let's show some respect
Article Abstract:
Revelations about the unauthorized use of dead babies' organs for scientific purposes at Birmingham Children's Hospital, England, and Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool, England, have significant moral and social implications. It is clear that the use of the organs was not mischievous, but the demands of medical science should not prevail over other considerations. The ethics and practice of medical research must be very closely monitored, thus protecting the public interest and ensuring that scientists do not become too self-important.
