Letter to the editor: Fruit and vegetables and ischaemic heart disease: systematic review or misleading meta-analysis?
Article Abstract:
An analysis by M.R. Law and J.K. Morris published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 1998, in which they assessed the relationship between consumption of fruit and vegetables and ischaemic heart disease, contained misleading information. They overestimated the extent of protection given by these foods, which could have an adverse on the trend to eat more of these foods for the sake of health, and could jeopardize the acceptance of observational data.
