Medical liability insurance is becoming more critical for physicians and their patients in 2003 than it was in 2002. State legislatures are expecting to tort reform bills aimed at easing problems with the availability and affordability of medical liability insurance.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is planning to help the physicians to pay their insurance premiums to secure doctors in the hospitals. However, the hospital group also appeared to take some precautions to not violate anti-kick back or Stark II laws.
