Article Abstract:
The status of nursing will only be maintained by ensuring patient care is the main priority of the profession. Nurses are not employed for their essay writing abilities but for their social skills with patients, making them at ease during a difficult part of their lives. Some nurses wish to rise higher in the profession, taking on more challenging clinical and research roles, although this undermines the true definition of nursing within the profession.

Using health profiling as a tool for needs assessment
Article Abstract:
Primary care groups are seen as a positive opportunity for nursing. Their remit is to reduce health inequalities moving the focus locally. Nurses have used individualized models of care for some time and they now need to transfer this ethos to a population, and a useful tool is health profiling. This identifies needs and allows practitioners to determine resources required for improving healthcare, and reduce health inequalities.
