Loss adjusters
Article Abstract:
Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, Gloucester, England, introduced an information and support service in January 1994 to help relatives of deceased patients understand their grief and know more about how their relative died. Nurses give support for four to six weeks afterwards either by telephone or by making home visits and are available to answer questions and provide medical information about the circumstances of the death. An audit of relatives' opinions has shown the service to be of value and it is now routinely available in the accident and emergency unit.
