Catch 'em young
Article Abstract:
The majority of teenagers in the UK do not undertake the type of physical activity likely to maintain and improve their cardiovascular health. In most cases, they do not see the sporting opportunities offered by schools as socially acceptable or appropriate to their lifestyle. Work with two schools in Manchester, England, has indicated that 15- and 16-year olds can derive considerable benefit from aerobic-style exercise. This approach can also cover relaxation techniques and health promotion topics.
