Lung cancer specialist and respiratory registrar
Article Abstract:
It is very important to be able to speak to patients in terms they can understand, according to John McPhelim, a clinical nurse specialist in lung cancer at Stobhill NHS Trust in Glasgow, Scotland. He greatly admires this ability in Joseph Sarvesvaran, a registrar in respiratory medicine at the same hospital. The two men, who work closely together, have respect for each other and regard their roles as equally important. Sarvesvaran believes that McPhelim appeals to patients because he is not threatening and has easy access to doctors.
