Virtual ICUs: Foundations for healthier environments

The virtual intensive care units (ICUs) will allow healthcare organizations to create system-wide critical care services built on a technological infrastructure and clinical expertise to improve economic performance, operating efficiency and care quality. The virtual ICUs are defining the field of telemedicine by addressing the challenges and telemedicine is redesigning the workflow of bedside nurse through technological advancements.

Malignant hyperthermia: A case study

A case study of malignant hyperthermia (MH), which is a rare yet can be deadly and can be triggered by some anesthetics and the skeletal muscle relaxant succinylcholine is presented. It is important to recognize and treat MH early, reduce core body temperature till patientEs temperature reaches 100 degrees Fahrenheit and before discharge teach the patient about MH.
