Management and promotion of continence in rehab settings
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine the resources available to staff and patients to diagnose and manage urinary and fecal continence in senior patients. Results revealed that patients were not taken into confidence when deciding the line of treatment to be adopted and nurses required a change in approach with senior patients.

Introducing matron's ward rounds to improve care
Article Abstract:
Modern matrons are expected to act as patient advocates, and improve the experience of care and several initiatives aim to achieve this, including the introduction of matrons' ward rounds. These have proved popular with patients and have identified an increased care need for some vulnerable adults during their hospital stay.

Health care professionals in England will all work from one IT system known as the Integrated Care Records System (ICRS) that enables them to access patient records from a central database. The various other benefits of the system that saves time for doctors and nurse are discussed.
