Management of cervical cerclage and preterm premature rupture of the membranes: should the stitch be removed?
Article Abstract:
It may not be necessary to remove a cerclage if a pregnant woman who has one has premature rupture of fetal membranes. Premature birth is often caused by a cervix that opens prematurely. Cerclage is a procedure to keep the cervix closed until the normal delivery date.

Secretory component appears to maintain pregnancy by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins. It is produced by the decidua, which is one of the layers of tissue inside the uterus.
