Reversal of the cellular phenotype in the premature aging disease Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome
Article Abstract:
Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS) is a childhood premature aging disease caused by a spontaneous point mutation in lamin A, one of the major architectural elements of the mammalian cell nucleus. Upon splicing correction, HGPS fibroblasts are found to assume normal nuclear morphology.

Cardiac aid to the injured but not the elderly?
Article Abstract:
A genetic pulse-labeling approach is used for providing evidence for cardiac stem cells in adult mammals. The analysis has shown that there is substantial replacement after injury, although there is no replacement of cardiomyocytes during normal aging.
