The new Net
Article Abstract:
Physicians and scientists will be able to perform many different tasks with the new Internet that were difficult or impossible on the original version. Since the new Net is expected to run nearly 1,000 times faster, it will allow the use of much larger applications, providing multisite medical procedure instruction, medical archive access for rural physicians, and improved maintenance of medical records.

Partners or pains?
Article Abstract:
Increased access to medical information is causing doctor-patient relationships to change. Patients are becoming more involved in their own care and treatment and are seeking advice, rather than definitive answers, from their doctors. Many doctors feel threatened by the amount of knowledge available to patients. Health and fitness topics account for an estimated 25% of all on-line activity.
