Marriage of convenience
Article Abstract:
The provision of UK social and health care could benefit positively from moves to introduce joint funding and continued integration of the two services. The government is seeking to create a more flexible structure to the provision of health and social care by allowing the setting up of partnering schemes and joint commissioning of services. Mental health organisations are in favour of joint funding, believing it will improve the provision of care for mentally ill patients and give greater control to those in charge of mental health commissioning.
