Bonus of contention
Article Abstract:
UK nursing home managers are confident their staff will not put patients lives at risk during the Millennium period by taking unnecessary time off or demanding extra pay to cover the period. Some larger nursing facilities are offering millennium payment bonuses to staff who commit to working over the festivities, although smaller homes claim they will no be able to make such payments. The government is being asked to provide extra funding to meet additional wage costs should the need arise.
