Article Abstract:
The American Medical Assn (AMA) has a short amount of time to start its physician accreditation program before managed care organizations take the initiative and set physician standards, according to association officials. So, the AMA has begun the process with the full support of medical industry leaders, although some specialty societies are trying to delay the process to clarify some issues. Groups embrace guidelines as part of managed care contract
Article Abstract:

However, clinicians are concerned that financial incentives to doctors are not aligned with the objectives of the guidelines.
