Maternal morbidity and obstetric complications in triplet pregnancies and quadruplet and higher-order multiple pregnancies
Article Abstract:
The risk of maternal morbidity and obstetric complications in women with triplet pregnancies and quadruplet and higher-order multiple pregnancies is examined. Women with triplet, quadruplet and higher-order multiple pregnancies are at an increased risk of pregnancy-associated hypertension, eclampsia, anemia, diabetes mellitus, abruptio placenta, premature rupture of membrane and cesarean delivery.

Article Abstract:
Two hundred ninety-one women with singleton pregnancies participated in a study, including 75 pregnancies (26%) with oligohydramnios and 31 pregnancies (10%) with hydramnios. The study concluded that amniotic fluid indices perform best for the identifying normal amniotic fluid (AF) volumes, whereas the identification of oligohydramnios or hydramnios is poor.
