Medicare opt-out requires meticulous paperwork
Article Abstract:
A physician who desires to opt-out of the Medicare program must file an affidavit with all Medicare carriers to which he claims, or would submit claims for a private contract with beneficiary in order for the opt-out to be effective. A brief review on the requirements of the requisite opt-out affidavit and the implications for physicians who decide to opt-out of Medicare is presented.
