Medicine saves funding for research arm
Article Abstract:
The Institute of Medicine in its report recommended spending up to $1 billion on the type of front-line, primary care research, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). However, it received just $300.3 million in 2002 and was targeted for a $48.6 million budget cut in the year 2003.

Study asks why surgical tools were left in 1,500 patients
Article Abstract:
There are a number of cases found in which foreign bodies are left inside the patient after their surgery. As per the reports, the objects are left inside patients due to emergencies, complications and patient obesity but not by negligence.
