Milk fat does not affect the symptoms of lactose intolerance
Article Abstract:
The symptoms of lactose intolerance are not affected by even a significant difference in the fat content of milk. For this reason, it does not seem to be justified to recommend full-fat milk products as part of the treatment of lactose intolerance. Lactose intolerant people are sensitive to a number of liquids and substances independent of lactose, and this could be why lactose-free milk produces as many symptoms as lactose containing milks.

Evaluation of oro-coecal transit time: a comparison of the lactose-(13C, 15N)ureide 13CO2- and the lactulose H2-breath test in humans
Article Abstract:
Doubly-labelled lactose-(13C, 15N)ureide was synthesized to study the oro-coecal transit time (OCTT) in contrast to the conventional lactulose H2-breath test. Findings indicated that the use of the lactulose H2-breath test for studying OCTT revealed a statistically significant shortening of 1.18 hrs in comparison to the lactose-(13C)ureide 13CO2-breath test in healthy adults.
