Molecular heterogeneity in acute renal allograft rejection identified by DNA microarray profiling
Article Abstract:
An infiltration of B cells into a transplanted kidney may trigger graft rejection, according to a study of biopsy samples from 50 kidney transplant recipients. Using DNA microarrays, the researchers also discovered different patterns of gene expression in different patients. DNA microarrays are used to measure the expression of hundreds of different genes in a single biopsy sample.

Molecular diagnosis of the hematologic cancers
Article Abstract:
The use of gene expression profiling to diagnose non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and some types leukemia is reviewed. Only certain genes are expressed in most cells and gene expression profiling detects all the genes that are expressed in specific cells. Different cancers would have different gene expression profiles.

Genome-wide views of cancer
Article Abstract:
DNA microarray analysis can be used to determine how cancer patients will respond to a particular drug and which treatment would be best for a particular patient. DNA microarrays allow scientists to measure the expression of thousands of genes in a tissue sample.
