Moral medicine, forsooth
Article Abstract:
Responsible medicine based on facts is needed rather than moral preaching to help patients with sexual issues. A pro-choice position should not be equated with being 'pro-abortion.' Moreover, abortions are sought by a broad range of women, adults as well as teenagers, married as well as unwed. Sex education does not promote sexual activity and has not contributed to a higher rate of unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. Homosexuality is not determined by conscious choice, but appears to be hardwired; AIDS is a disease, not a punishment for homosexuality.

Unfriendly fire
Article Abstract:
Specific job descriptions and the shifting of the balance of power have created friction between nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs). NPs in Tennessee have waged a successful campaign to convince the public, politicians, and physicians that their independence and licensed training give them more clinical ability and competence. However, PAs argue that advanced level of degrees do not necessarily mean greater clinical skills and experience.
