Article Abstract:
Dave Clark is remembered as one rare White politician who spent his life working for the welfare of the Blacks and the poor. Born in 1943, Dave grew up in a middle-class, predominantly black community. He obtained a bachelor's degree in religion from George Washington University and law degree from Howard University. He held several positions including being the Chief Law Clerk for the 1968 Poor People's campaign, prior to becoming one of Washington D.C.'s City Council 1974. He served in that capacity, focusing his efforts for the good of the poor until he died of brain cancer in 1994.

Ananya and Chandralekha - a response to "Chandralekha: negotiating the female body and movement in cultural/political signification."
Article Abstract:
Dance scholar Ananya and choreographer Chandralekha successfully communicate women's social and political power as conveyed through dance. While Chandralekha usurps and reapplies prior structures and traditions, Ananya interprets the new movements within their religious, cultural and political contexts. Both women draw on indigenous and post-colonial historiography to create new dance performance.
