NIH revamps HIV vaccine trials unit
Article Abstract:
The US National Institutes of Health has created the HIV Vaccine Trials Network, which will consist of 10 sites coordinated by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. A second network called the Prevention Trials Network will be centered in Research Triangle, North Carolina.

Human mesenchymal stem cells engraft and demonstrate site-specific differentiation after 'in utero' transplantation in sheep
Article Abstract:
This article discusses an experiment conducted in which a human mesenchymal stem cell population was transplanted into fetal sheep. The authors maintain the results demonstrated human mesenchymal stem cells maintain multi-potential capacity after transplantation.

$1 million study renews HIV/transplant research
Article Abstract:
Researchers at the University of California-San Francisco plan to offer organ transplants to five HIV patients by the end of 2000. In the past, HIV patients did not benefit from organ transplants, but new AIDS drugs have improved their prognosis.
