NSAID studies abound in cancer research: Drugs may have niche in prevention and treatment
Article Abstract:
Some nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are facing controversy due to their link to increased risk of myocardial infarction and stroke. However, a new study found that long-term daily NSAID use reduced the risk of oral cancer in some smokers but did not increase overall survival thus suggesting that the value of some of these drugs for certain cancer patients might outweigh the risks.
