The use and complications of the insertion of nasogastric tubes, which is a common procedure in many clinical areas, are described along with the different equipments required, its different types, the procedure, and the professional responsibilities. The professional responsibilities reveal that all nurses who practice nasogastric tube insertion must have received approved training and demonstrated competence under supervision.

The principles of PEG feeding in the community
Article Abstract:
Percutaneous endoscopic gastrotomy (PEG) tubes are used to provide access to a functional gastrointestinal tract to enable long term nutritional support. Patients receiving PEG feeding need support form the nurses, physicians and the multidisciplinary team for perfect working of the tube.
