Neuronal progenitors - learning from the hippocampus
Article Abstract:
Treating degenerative diseases of the nervous system requires reducing the extent and rate of tissue injury, and neuronal progentor cells appear to be an effective means to do so. Such cells have been observed proliferating and differentiating in vitro, and may lead to neuronal transplantaion therapies.

Persistently modified h-channels after complex febrile seizures convert the seizure-induced enhancement of inhibition to hyperexcitability
Article Abstract:
The biochemical aspects of the hippocampus as it relates to febrile seizures are examined, focusing on evidence of the modification of the h-channels in the neurological disease. Topics include a discussion of the possible mechanism for the changes in the depolarizing current in the h-channels.
