Article Abstract:
The physician assistant (PA) profession must continue to adhere to the high standards and strict educational and professional requirements needed to become a certified PA. Often individuals in similar health fields believe their related experience qualifies them for PA certification and seek to bypass the standard certification processes. This type of activity undermines the status and credibility of a profession which has taken great effort to maintain its standards of excellence.
