Nose is best site for chlamydia vaccine
Article Abstract:
Intranasal immunization appears to be the best delivery route for vaccines against chlamydia infections and diseases. A study conducted by Joseph U. Igietseme of Morehouse School of Medicine and colleagues found that the intranasal route in administering Chlamydia trachomatis antigens evokes the type of immunity that is known to protect against chlamydia. Findings indicate that immunity against chlamydial genital infection is produced by vaccine routes that promote rapid induction of genital mucosal cell-mediated immune (CMI) effectors, the CMI-associated humoral effector IgG2a and, to some degree, secretory IgA.

Whether live vaccines saves or kills up to host factors
Article Abstract:
Host factors that have yet to be identified appear to determine whether a live AIDS vaccine protects or kills. This was gleaned from a study conducted by Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center researchers led by Ruth I. Connor, wherein rhesus monkeys were administered a prototype, live attenuated AIDS vaccine and challenged with pathogenic virus SIVmac251 at various weekly intervals after immunization. The study found, among others, that the vaccine virus actions may be profoundly affected by host factors, such as ability to replicate.
