Nurses warn Alzheimer's drugs ban will lead to more sedation
Article Abstract:
Older people's nurses have warned that they could be forced to go back to the unethical practice of sedating restless patients whenever drafts plan to withdraw drugs to treat Alzheimer's disease are approved. The proposal suggest that donepezil, galantamine and rivastigmine should only be prescribed for moderate Alzheimer's disease, instead of mild to moderate Alzheimer's for which they are licensed.
