Nursing needs parity between academic and clinical staff
Article Abstract:
Lecturers who are nurse-qualified must be treated in the same way as those who are medically qualified, because nurse education is vital to practice, since it affects the quality of care, and is as important as medical education. Nurse lecturers need to be recognized in the same way as their medical counterparts, or there will be a shortage of nurse lecturers, since there are other more appealing and better-paid clinical roles such as nurse practitioner and nurse consultant.
