Obstetrics and gynecology medical student outcomes: Longitudinal multispecialty clerkship versus traditional block rotations
Article Abstract:
The differences in final clerkship grades between students in the longitudinal program and the traditional block rotations for obstetrics and gynecology are examined in a study. Longitudinally trained students received similar clinical evaluations to their colleagues, but would possibly need assistance in acquiring the knowledge needed for the written examination.

Local anesthetic reduces the pain of colposcopic biopsies: a randomized trial
Article Abstract:
Injecting the anesthetic lidocaine into a woman's cervix before taking a cervical biopsy can reduce the pain this procedure causes, according to a study of 56 women. The cervix is the end of the uterus that protrudes into the vagina. Cervical biopsies are done to determine whether a woman has cervical cancer.

Capsaicin for the treatment of vulvar vestibulitis
Article Abstract:
The study evaluated the use of local capsaicin cream as an effective treatment for patients with documented vulvar vestibulitis syndrome. It concluded that vulvar vestibulitis syndrome that is treated with capsaicin significantly decreases discomfort and allows for more frequent sexual relations.
