Dose-finding study of once-daily indinavir/ritonavir plus zidovudine and lamivudine in HIV-infected patients
Article Abstract:
Giving HIV patients indinavir along with ritonavir may allow them to take both protease inhibitors once a day rather than two or three times a day. This is possible because ritonavir reduces the metabolism of indinavir, making it last longer in the body.

Long-term CD4(super+) T-cell response to highly active antiretroviral therapy according to baseline CD4(super +) T-cell count
Article Abstract:
A late initiation of highly active antiretroviral therapy for HIV infection is recommended by the treatment guidelines. An analysis of baseline CD4(super +) T-cells in 861 antiretroviral therapy-naive, chronic HIV-1-infected patients who started treatment at a later stage has revealed that long-term immune recovery is possible regardless of baseline CD4(super +) T-cell count.

Once-daily regimen of saquinavir, ritonavir, didanosine, and lamivudine in HIV-infected patients with standard tuberculosis therapy (TBQD Study)
Article Abstract:
The efficacy and safety of a once-daily regimen with didanosine, lamivudine, sequinavir, and low-dose ritonavir in antiretroviral-naive patients with tuberculosis treated with rifampin and the influence of rifampin on plasma trough concentration of saquinavir is assessed. The results show that the combination of didanosine, lamivudine, sequinavir, and ritonavir might be a useful treatment regimen for the patients with tuberculosis in whom a once-daily protease inhibitor-containing regimen is considered.
