Open house
Article Abstract:
Nurse practitioner Norma House operates a Primary Care Act Pilot Site in Brighton, UK, aimed at offering health services to homeless people. The South Downs NHS Trust initiated the project and provided House with a salaried GP and surgery. House offers continuous support to all patients, including those who choose not to pursue medical care for diseases such as cancer. Around 40% of the 150 homeless people registered as patients use heroin and House is keen to improve her knowledge of intravenous drug use and mental health.
