Article Abstract:
Mental illness affects 25 percent of the population at some time in their lives and most people need care or support to help them deal with their problem. As understanding of mental illness increases and services find more innovative ways of providing support, nurses are moving into new roles, which include crisis intervention teams that provide multi-agency support in the community to help people cope with acute problems.
