Oral iron
Article Abstract:
Oral iron replaces iron stores needed for the development of red blood cells (erythrocytes), and are administered in the form of tablets, capsules, and syrup. Although iron preparations are best absorbed in an empty stomach, they may be taken after food to reduce gastrointestinal side-effects, and since there is only a marginal difference between one ferrous salt and another in the efficiency of iron absorption, choice of preparation is normally decided by incidence of side-effects and cost.

Aspirin
Article Abstract:
Aspirin is useful to block pain impulses in the central nervous system, inhibits prostaglandin synthesis, and peripheral vasodilation resulting in antipyretic properties, and decreases in platelet aggregation. The side-effects include a high incidence of gastrointestinal irritation with slight asymptomatic blood loss, bronchospasm, increased bleeding time, and possible skin reactions in hypersensitive patients.

How to assess epidural blockade
Article Abstract:
Epidural analgesia is extensively used to manage acute and chronic pain in a variety of clinical settings. Sensitivity to changes in temperature along sensory dermatomes can be used to assess the level of epidural block and the success of the blockade to provide adequate analgesia depends on the location of the epidural catheter tip and the rate and spread of the local anaesthetic infused.
