Parting shots
Article Abstract:
A safety adviser from the UK's Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) explains RoSPA's approach to safety. Media reports have stated that safety organizations have adopted such an exaggerated approach that the public has lost its desire for adventure, but RoSPA believes the media do not understand risk decision making. RoSPA believes in the need for action to prevent tragedy, and it believes in the need for knowledgeable risk assessment and sound judgement on the part of the public. RoSPA has to engage in risk education and be an effective influence in accident prevention.
