Partnership encourages patients to comply with treatment
Article Abstract:
Nurses and patients could work closely together to ensure patients receive the best treatment and they comply with medical advice. Research has found patients with a chronic illnesses are less likely to follow advice and treatment from their medical practitioners. About 50% of patients, with a chronic condition, are not willing to follow the prescribed medical treatment. Patients who not willing to take their medicines may have an underlying reason. It has been found doctors may prescribe medication without recourse to individual patient's needs and life style.

Power dressing
Article Abstract:
Empowerment is widely advocated in the UK nursing profession, but often fails to become reality. Nurses should regard empowerment as a process towards patient independence, with the nurse gradually transferring control to the patient. Timing is extremely important, with the nurse having to be aware when to be involved and when to avoid intervention. Nurses should consider whether they really listen to what patients are saying, and should look at whether they step back too soon in the process of empowerment.
