Managed care strives to recover from '97 struggles
Article Abstract:
Managed care had several problems during 1997 including declining profits and the public's negative perceptions. The huge enrollments of the early 1990s in the managed care system caused management difficulties. Managed care companies must decrease costs while improving care. Power for consumers will increase with the development of a consumer bill of rights completed in late 1997.
