Article Abstract:
TorontoEs Medical school suspended classes for 10 days for students whose education involved clinical contact with patients during their surgery clerkship. It is reported that three of the universities 800 medical students underwent voluntary 10-day quarantines because of possible exposure to SARS.

Funding crunch will force renewed emphasis on quality
Article Abstract:
The changes in the unpredictable nature of federal and state funding streams include a greater accountability to the public for quality of care. Teaching hospitals and medical schools are urged to reinvent themselves to remain ahead at the medical care and stay true to their educational mission.
