Peptic ulcers: new understandings, new treatments
Article Abstract:
Peptic ulcers can often be cured with a week or two of antibiotic therapy. They are sores on the stomach or intestine lining. It is called a gastric ulcer is it is in the stomach. Ulcers are named or the part of the small intestine where they develop. The most common symptoms for peptic ulcers are gnawing pain lasting a few minutes or many hours which flares up at night and is worse when the stomach is empty.

Ulcers: are antibiotics an answer?
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that Helicobacter pylori bacteria are a more important cause of ulcers that lifestyle or stomach acid. Antibiotic treatment appears to prevent recurrences and is becoming accepted by doctors as a treatment for recurrent ulcers.
