Percentage of glycosylated serum ferritin remains low throughout the course of adult onset Still's disease
Article Abstract:
In patients with adult onset Still's disease, blood levels of ferritin are abnormally high and the percentage of ferritin that is glycosylated is abnormally low. This was confirmed in a study of 14 patients with this inflammatory disease. Blood levels of ferritin dropped when patients went into remission.

Pregnancy complicated by cerebral venous thrombosis in Behcet's disease
Article Abstract:
Pregnant women with continuous headaches and sight disturbances may have a blockage in brain blood vessels. A pregnant woman with a history of Behcet's disease and cardiovascular complications experienced a continuous headache on the right side, light sensitivity, and sight disturbances in the right eye in the third trimester. A lumbar puncture revealed increased opening pressure of brain and spine fluid. A brain scan revealed a blood clot. Her condition improved with administration of heparin and prednisone. She gave birth to a healthy girl at 37 weeks of pregnancy. Three weeks later, another brain scan showed the clot was still there. The infant did not exhibit symptoms of Behcet's disease, which is characterized by genital and oral ulcers, skin lesions, and blood clots.

Endomyocardial fibrosis in Behcet's disease
Article Abstract:
Behcet's disease may be one cause of a heart disease called endomyocardial fibrosis. Details of the imaging tests performed to identify endomyocardial fibrosis in four patients with Behcet's disease are presented. Tissue sample tests revealed the heart condition in three of these patients. The condition was discovered during surgery in the fourth patient. Contrast imaging tests indicated an abnormally small heart chamber size. A mass was visible on two cross-sectional imaging tests. Ultrasound tests showed a bright image in the area of the heart lining tissue.
