Pink's precedent
Article Abstract:
Graham Pink says his victory over Stockport Health Authority in an industrial tribunal is a victory for patient care. Mr Pink was originally offered 16,500 pounds sterling to drop his action alleging unfair dismissal by the authority because he spoke out about staff shortages in geriatric wards at Stepping Hill Hospital. The authority withdrew from the tribunal and offered the maximum award of 11,188 pounds sterling. Most nurses supported Mr Pink in his fight for better patient care.
