Plot against pot
Article Abstract:
A small peptide administered into the brain of rats seems to abolish the rewarding effects of nicotine and (delta)9-tetrahydrocannabinol and disrupts the interaction between a receptor for serotonin ondopamine-containing neurons and the tumor suppressor phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10. Drugs of abuse belong to diverse chemical families and have primary effects at different molecular targets in different regions of the brain.

'Shigellae' control the gates of LL
Article Abstract:
Antibacterial peptides such as LL-37 and the human beta-defensins are produced by epithelial cells. Research has shown how Shigella spp. are highly contagious bacteria that inject host cells with invasins, proliferate, and subvert the epithelial cells' immune response.

A peptide-doxorubicin 'prodrug' activated by prostate-specific antigen selectively kills prostate tumor cells positive for prostate-specific antigen 'in vivo'
Article Abstract:
This article discusses the linking of doxorubicin with a hydrolyzable peptide by a prostate-specific antigen. The authors maintain this conjugate was fifteen times more effective than conventional doxorubicin at inhibiting human prostate cancer tumors in mice.
