Pneumonia: preventing and treating this common condition
Article Abstract:
Pneumonia is diagnosed as an infection or inflammation of the lung. The disease emerges from germ activity in the throat if the body's immune system is not preventing the natural `flora' from entering the lungs. The three symptoms that cause the infection include bacteria, viruses and mycoplasma. If the infection does not clear up after four to six weeks following initial medical care, a doctor may want to order a chest x-ray to determine if there is any obstruction in the lung.
