Questions are being asked concerning how effective it will be in containing health care costs and whether it will be an economically viable program that will get Congressional and public support.

Congress approves Medicare cutbacks, individual tax boosts
Article Abstract:
Legislation affecting the medical profession has been stepped up. The Senate seemed to be near final approval of a Reagan Administration supported tax bill, while the House Ways and Means Committee approved Medicare cuts. Taxes are being increased, while social programs are having their funds trimmed.
